Salicylic acid and hydrogen peroxide cream are both effective acne treatments. Hydrogen peroxide cream is used to get rid of acne and prevent future outbreaks. Salicylic acid is a strong treatment that slows down the shedding of cells inside hair follicles. It also breaks down pimples and other blemishes. Proper application of these products is the first step in fighting acne.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Salicylic acid
  • Hydrogen peroxide cream
  • Cotton balls, pads and swabs
  1. Step 1

Pour hydrogen peroxide cream on your fingers, a cotton ball or a cotton pad.

  2. Step 2

Spread a thin layer of hydrogen peroxide cream over your whole face before going to bed.

  3. Step 3

Make sure your face is clean and dry. Put a little salicylic acid on your finger tip, cotton ball or pad, or cotton swab. Use sparingly.

  4. Step 4

Rub the salicylic acid only on blemished areas. Apply salicylic acid in the morning and as often as needed during the day and before going to bed.

  5. Step 5

Keep an eye on your skin. It may become irritated or dry when you begin using salicylic acid. Use the product only once a day at first if your skin becomes irritated. Gradually apply it more often as your skin adjusts to the treatment.

  6. Step 6

Apply a moisturizer to your face immediately after applying salicylic acid.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not use other over-the-counter treatments while using salicylic acid. Your skin could become overly irritated.
  • If you accidentally get topical salicylic acid in your mouth, nose or eyes, flush the area with water for 15 minutes.
  • Check your skin condition. If your skin is irritated, infected, red or broken, do not apply salicylic acid.
