Step3
Bathe the eyes in an eyewash of water with 5 to 10 drops of eyebright or pot marigold tincture.
Step4
Create a weak decoction of 1 ½ cups of water and ½ teaspoon goldenseal root. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, remove from heat and place a tight-fitting lid on the pot. Let it stand for about 10 to 15 minutes. You should then strain the mixture using a collander and a coffee filter and allow it to cool to room temperature. Place the mixture into an eye dropper and squeeze 2 to 3 drops into the infected eye.
Step5
Use burdock root tincture, a liver tonic and lymphatic cleanser, to help clear up harmful bacteria and reduce swelling. Boil 8 ounces of water with 1 dropper full of burdock root cleanser. Allow the tincture and water to boil for 1 minute to burn off the alcohol in the tincture. Let the mixture cool and dip a washcloth in it. Apply to the affected eye.
