Baby wipes are necessary when taking care of an infant, but they can be a considerable expense. Most commercial baby wipes also contain chemicals, which makes many parents uncomfortable. When you make your own natural baby wipes, you save money and keep your baby's skin free of harsh chemicals.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Paper towel
  • Sharp knife
  • 2 cups water
  • Plastic container
  • 1 Tbsp. baby oil
  • 2 Tbsp. baby wash or shampoo

Step1
Cut a roll of thick, white paper towels in half with a sharp knife and remove the inner cardboard tube.
Step2
Boil 2 cups of water and let it cool to room temperature.
Step3
Pour the cooled water into a plastic container, and add 1 Tbsp. baby oil and 2 Tbsp. baby wash or shampoo. The container must be big enough to hold half the paper towel roll.
Step4
Set the cut paper towel roll into the container of liquid, cut side facing down.
Step5
Put the lid on the plastic container and let the paper towels absorb all of the liquid.
Step6
Turn the container upside down and let it stand for 10 minutes. Your baby wipes are now ready. Pull out the first one, starting at the inside of the roll.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always seal the lid on the container when you're not using the baby wipes to prevent them from drying out.
