The burgeoning anti-aging market offers mostly skincare and cosmetic products, but vitamins and supplements also make up a large market share. Every day, new products appear in stores and on websites. It's hard to sift through all the products yourself and determine which one will work best, so read the following tips to help you pick the best anti-aging products.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose anti-aging cosmetics with light diffusing properties. Light diffusing foundation draws attention away from wrinkles, crow's feet and age lines and smooths over discolorations and blemishes.

  2. Step 2

Sample skincare products containing alpha hydroxy acids. This natural formula cleanses with milk and marine plant extracts and eliminates dead skin cells, making your skin brighter and healthier.

  3. Step 3

Look for essential oils on anti-aging ingredient lists. Derived from fruits and flowers, essential oils have antifungal properties that rejuvenate skin cells and deliver oxygen to the blood. They benefit the whole body, not just your complexion. Used for medical treatment in some European countries, essential oils can be applied in therapeutic massage and aromatherapy as well as cosmetics and skincare products.

  4. Step 4

Pinpoint supplements with proven track records. Even though dozens of new anti-aging products hit health store shelves every week, pick time tested nutrients like multivitamins geared for mature users. Look for ingredients like Alpha Lipoic Acid, which combats heart diseases, cataracts and reduces cell damage, and Acetyl-L-Carnitine to improve mental acuity and prevent Alzheimer's.

  5. Step 5

Check out products made with phytochemicals. Best known as a cancer preventative, phytochemicals aid estrogen production and are used in some natural menopause supplements. The strong antioxidant properties of phytochemicals like soy, beta-carotene and flavonoids inhibit osteoporosis and strengthen the immune system.
