Step 1
Send out haunted invitations eight to ten weeks prior to the wedding date. Create haunted looking invitations in the shapes of coffins, ghosts, haunted mansions or black cats.
-
Step 2
Include detailed directions to the haunted house in the invitation. Most haunted houses are not in the middle of cities or towns but in more remote areas.
-
Step 3
Explain that the haunted theme may not be suitable for all children. If you are including children in your invitations, this will allow parents can decide if they want to include them or not.
-
Step 4
Ask wedding guests to wear their own "haunted attire" to the wedding.
-
Step 1
Hold the ceremony in the evening for a more haunted ambiance.
-
Step 2
Use only candles for lighting to add flickering shadows along with a little romance to wedding ceremony.
-
Step 3
Dress the bridesmaids (and maybe even the bride) in black dresses.
-
Step 4
Carry bouquets of black roses. These are not really black, but rather a dark violet purple color. They will be both beautiful and haunting.
-
Step 5
Rent a fog machine to fill the air with mist as the ceremony starts. Don't go too heavy on the mist though as it might make it difficult to take pictures.
-
Step 6
Walk down the aisle to something scary or fun (think Monster Mash) instead of the traditional bridal march.
