How to Win the Jenkinson's Pro

Even before Rock Star Games increased the Jenkinson's Pro purse by a few thousand dollars, bodyboarding riders all over the country salivated at the chance to win the competition. The Pro draws riders to New Jersey beaches for a few days of extreme riding and good natured competition. Follow these steps to win the Jenkinson's Pro and take home a hefty prize.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging
Step1
Get to know the location. A trip to Jenkinson's Inlet Beach, where the competition takes places, is a good way to prepare for the Pro. If you can get there definitely do, but if traveling to the New Jersey beach is problematic, watch as much of the abundant video of the surf break as possible to know what you're in for.
Step2
Prepare for all kinds of conditions. New Jersey is not Hawaii, to put it simply. You can't expect solid, regular sets to glide in and thank you for riding them. Rather, expect the unexpected since you might be saddled with small sets, huge shorebreaks or some completely unpredictable surf pushed in by an Atlantic storm.
Step3
Check out the competition. Take advantage of the fact that the top competitors come to Jenkinson's Pro routinely. Watch some of the talented riders such as Andre Botha and Rafael Rivera doing their thing so you know where their weak spots lie. Also, check out Javier Baez videos to see how a Jenkinson's Pro winner rides the East Coast waves.
Step4
Enter the right division. It's unreasonable to think that you can win a division that you don't belong in. If you're talented but still not a full time boarder get yourself into the Amateur Division of the competition. Ladies get their own division as do professional men. Be sure to sign up early so there's enough space for you to enter your division.
