The Figure International is one of the top figure competitions in the world. Bodybuilding ladies from all over the country gather to show off their sculpted bodies and honed stage presentation. If you want to win the Figure International follow these steps before you hit the gym.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get on a training regimen. Top competitors at the Figure International, as with all figure competitions, train with passionate professionalism. A full-time coach is a good idea, though it's not strictly necessary. Whatever strategy you opt for, you must dedicate yourself to figure competition in order to have a shot at the title.

  2. Step 2

Focus on symmetry. Judges look for symmetry on all planes of the body. The attention paid to symmetry means that you might have to look outside of the gym for a little extra help. Experienced chiropractors can assist you with correcting structural imbalances so that you line up perfectly once you get on stage.

  3. Step 3

Pick the right outfits. Generally, competitors in the Figure International wear two different outfits for the different rounds of the competition. Be selective in choosing your outfit since judges do pay attention to how you look in what you wear. Bring backup outfits to the competition in case another lady has something similar to your outfit or in case the outfit gets dirty or damaged.

  4. Step 4

Pack poise instead of a punch. It is critical to remember that the figure competition is not a women's bodybuilding competition. Judges look for poise, grace, onstage presence and, above all, femininity when judging contestants. Have someone videotape you presenting yourself to get a glimpse of your form as you take the stage. Work on walking, posing and flexing to score enough points to win the International.
