It's easy to decide when to play golf. Golf can be addictive, but you can't play all the time. Even professional golfers have to take time off. So, get the most out of your golfing time by choosing to play when the time is right and choosing not to play when conditions or circumstances are less ideal.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check the weather before you play golf. Look for those days when the weather is likely to be good. On the days when there is a high probability of bad golf weather, stay home. You'll maximize your chances of playing 18 holes by not playing on risky weather days. Look on the Internet for websites which specialize in forecasting golf weather.

  2. Step 2

Plan to play more golf during the fall and less during other seasons. Temperatures are often ideal for golf in the early and mid fall and there is still enough evening daylight to get in 18 holes. Take a pass on a few hot summer days and make up for it later.

  3. Step 3

Skip the golf course on weekends. Weekends are the most popular times to play golf, but playing during the week has several advantages. There are less people on the course, which means less waiting and more privacy. Also, many courses offer special deals on weekdays, especially on Mondays.

  4. Step 4

Coordinate with family and friends in advance. There may be times when family and friends want to spend time with you, but you would also like to play golf. Yielding to their wishes will help you avoid confrontation and you can still schedule your round of golf for a different time.

  5. Step 5

Take a few days off from golf after you have played several days in a row. You'll be sharper both physically and mentally if you take frequent breaks from the sport. If you play golf three or four times a week you may not always be able to give your best performance. Playing less could mean a better performance more often.
