Instructions

    • 1

Locate a sturdy, y-shaped piece of wood. The size depends on how large you want your water balloon slingshot to be. However 6 to 8 inches long and at least 2 inches in thickness is a good start.

    • 2

Peel all the bark off the wood with a knife and let it dry. It will be much easier to handle if the wood is dry. Attach tape to the handle of the y-shaped wood so you will not get splinters.

    • 3

Get a rubber surgical tube that is thick and very strong. The length should be long enough to connect to both ends of the y-shaped wood and still have enough slack to pull back on.

    • 4

Find a large rectangular piece of leather, large enough to hold small water balloons. For a 6 to 8 inch slingshot, a 4 inch piece of leather should suffice.

    • 5

Center the piece of leather so it is exactly in the middle of the slingshot.

    • 6

Tape the far ends of the leather to the surgical tubing with duct tape. It makes the slingshot more sturdy if the tubing runs through the middle and along the back of the leather.

    • 7

Attach the ends of the tubing to the ends of the y-shaped wood with duct tape. Make sure it is secure and strong.

    • 8

Test the strength of your water balloon sling shot. Grab the handle of the wood with your left hand and the piece of leather in your right and pull back as if you are trying to fire a water balloon. If everything holds tight and does not break you have created a successful water balloon slingshot.
