Adobe Photoshop Elements is a versatile photo-editing software program offering multiple tools to fix flaws in digital or scanned photos. If you need to make your photo bigger for a better view or to pinpoint a flaw, you can enlarge the whole photo or different areas of it using the Zoom tool.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose the photo that you want to view. Go to the "Photo Browser," then click on the camera icon and choose the photo's location from the drop-down menu. Click the "Edit" button, and choose "Go To Quick Fix" or "Go To Standard Edit." Then choose either "Quick Fix" or "Standard Edit" (also called "The Editor").

  2. Step 2

Select the Zoom tool (the magnifying glass) and click either the "Zoom In" or "Zoom Out" button in the options bar. The magnifying glass with the plus sign enlarges the photo and the magnifying glass with the minus sign reduces it.

  3. Step 3

Click on the area you want to magnify. Each click magnifies or reduces the image to the next preset percentage, and centers the display around the point you click. The maximum magnification level is 1600 percent and the minimum reduction level is 1 pixel. When your photo has reached either of those levels, the magnifying glass appears to be empty.

  4. Step 4

Drag a Zoom tool over just the portion of the photo you want to magnify, if you want only a part of the photo enlarged. You must select the "Zoom In" button in the options bar. Move the zoom marquee around the image by starting to drag a marquee, then hold down the spacebar while dragging the marquee to a new location.
