Check the information hubs for shows. Lowrider Magazine is probably the best known lowrider information and news outlet. The "Events" section of the magazine's website, LowriderMagazine.com, gives a listing of larger lowrider shows. Take a look at the site to find a show close to you.

Get some background on lowriders. The best way to go to a lowrider show is with a little knowledge about lowrider history and techniques. Lowriders are divided into makes, models, styles and purposes (such as showing or actually driving). Check out some lowrider information outlets such as BrownPride.com to get some background on lowrider culture and to take a look at galleries of past lowrider car shows.

Ask the locals. If you want to attend some of the more low key, local lowrider car shows use the extensive online forums at Lowrider.com to ask locals about upcoming shows in their areas. Unlike the larger shows associated with the big magazine, smaller shows are a way to get a more intimate introduction to the lowrider car show culture.

Move up a level by attending SEMA. The Specialty Equipment Market Association is the most celebrated car show featuring some of the best lowriders around. Getting into SEMA is not easy since attendees must work in the automotive industry. If you don't work in the industry get in touch with a lowrider magazine, general car magazine or just a local newspaper to try to get admitted to SEMA on media credentials.
