Step 1
Call your local Chamber of Commerce for a listing of clubs and organizations in your area. This list could also be found in your local phone book, city website or newspaper.
-
Step 2
Research national modified car enthusiasts clubs, such as the Nissan Enthusiasts Network, and find the local chapter of the club. There may be a fee or annual dues to join, but often the club will meet often, sponsor local events and gather and share information about regional and national events.
-
Step 3
Start a modified car club in your area to find and meet enthusiasts. You can do this by setting a meeting date, time and location and spreading the word. Post flyers around your city, colleges, universities and other public bulletins boards, utilize radio stations and submit PSAs to local television stations, which are most often free of charge.
-
Step 4
Talk with modified or custom car shops to find out about other modified car enthusiasts. This is also a great source of information for local modified car events, contests, clubs or parts.
-
Step 5
Check with the manufacturer of the modified car you own. Like the Nissan club, other manufacturers may offer networking opportunities, both on the web and in local situations. Check their respective websites for details.
