Things You'll Need:
- Screwdriver
- New regulator
-
Step 1
Turn the cap on the pressure regulator with a coin or flathead screwdriver and remove it.
-
Step 2
Snap the plunger back into its original position. Re-insert the plunger into the regulator and tighten.
-
Step 3
Find the pilot screw located behind the thermostat knob. Remove the thermostat knob and check the control screw—make sure it is on the LP setting. This will require a full turn in the clockwise direction. Replace the thermostat knob.
-
Step 4
Work with the ½-inch wrench and turn the safety valve orifice hood clockwise until it is tight. This will finish the replacement of the regulator.
-
Step 5
Control the angle of the vent on the regulator—it must point downward to keep rain, snow, ice and other debris out.
-
Step 6
Protect the regulator from bangs and other damage. All the regulator needs is a cover for protection.
-
Step 7
Check the conversion for leaks. Turn the LP gas on and plug the power supply cord into a grounded outlet. Adjust the air shutters for equal gas distribution. Readjust the range lighting pilots.
