How to Draft a Winning Fantasy Baseball Third Baseman

Third base is a power position in fantasy baseball, but it's not as deep as first base and outfield. The game's top player, Alex Rodriguez, plays third base, but you're not going to get him unless you're in the top three picks in your league. If you want a winning third baseman not named A-Rod, you'll need to employ some strategy.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep your eye out for a third baseman early in the draft. Although it is a power position, it's not a deep one like first base.

  2. Step 2

Choose a third baseman that provides a lot of home runs and RBIs. You'll want to get the power categories from this position, even if it's not superstar level. A third baseman capable of 25 home runs and 80 RBIs a year is a good fantasy third baseman.

  3. Step 3

Consider the team the player plays for. A player on a team with superstars is going to have more RBI opportunities than a player who plays for an offensively weak team. Make sure your third baseman is on a team with a lot of firepower.

  4. Step 4

Find a player you can count on to be in the lineup every day by checking statistics from previous years and seeing which third basemen played the most games. Those players can handle the strains of the long season and should give your fantasy team everyday contributions.
