How to Untangle Jewelry
There are few things more annoying than when you're in a rush to get out of the house and you discover that your jewelry is tangled up. It's a fact of life that even if you're ultra-organized, your necklaces are bound to get tangled up and wrap around your earrings and bracelets. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
-
-
1
Lay all of your jewelry out on a smooth surface, like a table-top or bed. Sort through it with your hands.
-
2
Separate whatever you can. Look for earrings, necklaces and bracelets that are easy to separate. Set them aside from the jumble of jewelry.
-
-
3
Unlatch the clasp of tangled necklaces and bracelets. They are easier to untangle if they're not latched.
-
4
Slowly follow each piece of jewelry, re-tracing its steps if you will, to get it untangled. Be careful not to cause more knots or kinks into chains.
-
5
Roll knots gently between your pointer finger and thumb to loosen them up.
-
6
Tackle tough knots with a needle or push pin. Work the sharp point into the middle of the knot. Use a magnifying glass if you have one to find the middle of the knot.
-
7
Focus on one knot at a time. Keep working the chain with the sharp point until the knots loosen.

Tips & Warnings
Use an earring if you don't have a needle or push pin. The earring post is pointy enough to get the job done.
Consider using two needles simultaneously. Pull the needles apart randomly to loosen the tangles.
Grab a pair of tweezers and try to work them through the knot.
Don't pull too hard at your jewelry or you'll cause more damage.
