Wool, usually made from sheep's hair, has been used by fashion designer of everything from tartan golf wear to cozy sweaters and classic business suits. The knit is rugged and feminine and is a must for anyone who lives in harsh winters.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a black or cream wool dress to wear. Find a dress with classic straight lines or a trendier collar or scalloped skirt. Add a belt, a chunky necklace and tall heeled boots to complete the look.

  2. Step 2

Wear wool sweaters with undershirts to keep skin from itching. Sweaters come in many styles, shapes and weights for fall and winter temperatures. Wear the sweater with a pair of jeans or dress it up with slacks and heels.

  3. Step 3

Buy a wool suit to wear to work in the cool months. Wear the suit with a dress shirt for work or as separates in a more casual setting. Mix the heavy textured suit pieces with softer silks or cottons for a classically feminine look or with tall boots, a short jean skirt and bright colors for a more trendy and casual look.

  4. Step 4

Find wool coats, scarves, hats and gloves to complete your winter wardrobe. Outerwear is great for warmth but also for fashion. Choose textures and colors to add warmth to your neutral jacket.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using moisturizer to avoid the itching associated with cool weather and wool sweaters.
