Big businesses use taglines to advertise their goods. When you hear the tagline, you immediately recognize the product. You can use a tagline to build your own business network. Here are some ideas to get you started.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Brainstorm tagline ideas for your business. The tagline should show your experience, project emotion and be energetic.

  2. Step 2

Choose the best tagline for your business. Begin to make it part of your daily conversations. You want it to be like second nature to you as you take the next steps.

  3. Step 3

Create business cards and stationery with your tagline. As people become used to your tagline, they begin to associate you with your business product. Pass out your new business cards with your tagline. Leaving them in places out of the norm may result in unexpected sales.

  4. Step 4

Develop a 30-second "elevator" speech. It should be a quick introduction of who you are and your tagline. If the tagline is effective, people remember this introduction, your tagline and your product. Practice your speech until you are comfortable with it.

  5. Step 5

Use your tagline every chance you get. If you are at a party, pass out your business card and give your elevator speech as your introduction. Work the room. Don't forget the shy persons sitting or standing by themselves. Don't try to sell, just network.

  6. Step 6

Follow up any meetings you may have with phone calls. Introduce yourself on the phone with your tagline to help remind your potential customer of your name and what you have to offer.
