Keep small objects out of your dog's reach. Puppies like to chew and can accidentally swallow things like jewelry and coins.
Step2
Replace potentially harmful plants with non-toxic or artificial ones. Some common household plants such as carnations and daffodils are actually toxic to dogs. Consult your veterinarian for a complete list.
Step3
Use child proof latches on all lower cabinets to keep dogs from getting into something harmful (such as cleaning supplies.)
Step4
Cover electrical cords with cord runners. Chewing cords can cause electrocution.
Step5
Use baby gates at the top of stairs. Puppies are a little clumsy and can easily fall.
