How to Treat Chronic Fatigue With Naturopathy

Chronic fatigue syndrome is a controversial diagnosis in mainstream medicine. Until recent years, some physicians were reluctant even to recognize chronic fatigue syndrome as an illness. Alternative medicine offers promising treatments for many conditions, and naturopathy may effectively treat chronic fatigue.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Go to the website of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (see Resources below) to find a qualified naturopathic doctor in your area. A naturopathic doctor can conduct extensive testing in cooperation with your regular family physician to treat your condition.
Step2
Take vitamin B complex daily. The B vitamins provide energy that can help chronic fatigue sufferers function better in their daily lives.
Step3
Drink green tea at least once a day. Green tea contains antioxidants that can reduce physical exhaustion.
Step4
Use acupuncture to treat your chronic fatigue. Acupuncture helps the body function more efficiently by restoring balance to the bioelectric energy in the body.
Step5
Ask your doctor to order a blood test to check your levels of certain minerals, including magnesium and zinc. Supplement with these minerals if your test results indicate a deficiency.
Step6
Add more whole foods to your diet such as organic raw fruits and vegetables. Proper diet is an important component to naturopathy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Incorporate leisure into your schedule. Schedule time just for yourself so you can read a book, sip a cup of tea or take a bubble bath.

on 2/11/2008 I'm not sure if I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but I do suffer from extreme lethargy during daily activity. I have never been treated for sleeping disorders, so I don't know if there's anything wrong with me. It seems all I want to do is come home, unwind, and go to sleep. I barely have the energy to finish my work, and none the less am no longer able to exercise as much any more. I have become extremely sluggish. I don't know if it's just a result of stress, but I would like to find a remedy for this constant fatigue. I always get 8-10 hours of sleep a night and have normal sleep patterns. If anyone has any idea what is wrong with me, can you please post a response. Thank you.
