How to Load a Style in OpenOffice Impress

With OpenOffice Impress, you can choose from a selection of line and arrow styles or load new line and arrow styles into the application. You also can create a new custom style file based on the loaded styles.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Start OpenOffice Impress and open an existing presentation or a new presentation.
Step2
Choose the "Format" menu, and click on "Line" to open the "Line" dialog box. Click on "Line Styles" or "Arrow Styles" depending on whether you want to load additional arrow or line styles.
Step3
Click the "Load Line Styles" or "Load Arrow Styles" button in the "Line" dialog box. The button is a depicted by a picture of an open file folder.
Step4
Select the style file you want to load into Impress by clicking on it. The file will end in a .sod extension.
Step5
Click the "Open" button, close the "Open" dialog box and load the selected line or arrow style into Impress.
Step6
Come back to the "Line" dialog box to use the Line and Arrow styles that you have loaded into Impress.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can save your new load styles by clicking the "Save Arrow Styles" or "Save Line Styles" button. Enter a file name. Click "OK" to save this new style file.
