Freestylers use the piledriver soccer trick as a transition between ground moves and traditional juggling. Despite its simplicity, many of the world's top players, such as Falcao and Robinho, throw the trick into their freestyling routines. There are also several ways to start and finish the Piledriver, so it's a good trick for encouraging creativity.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pick the ball up with your hands and hold it in front of you.

  2. Step 2

Drop the ball to the ground directly in front of your dominant leg.

  3. Step 3

Pick your knee up quickly. As the ball rises, strike the top of it by slamming your knee back toward the ground. This is the piledriver's basic movement.

  4. Step 4

Place the ball on top of your dominant foot, instead of picking it up with your hands. When you're using the piledriver to begin juggling, this is your starting position.

  5. Step 5

Pull your foot up from the ground as fast as you can. This should lift the ball into the air. You may need to pull your toes back to keep the ball from floating away from your leg.

  6. Step 6

Repeat Step 3 with the same leg's knee.

  7. Step 7

Perform a simple freestyling air trick to begin juggling. The Hop the World, Around the World and Crossover tricks all work well with the Piledriver. For an easier start, kick the ball up with your other foot.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep the ball in front of whichever knee you're using to hit it. This makes controlling it easy.
  • Try repeatedly pounding the ball with alternating knee strikes to do the Piledriver while moving forward.
