Step 1
Use natural materials, such as cotton, linen and wood. Steer clear of particle board or press board furniture because it can give off gases. Use organic materials if possible to reduce the amount of chemicals in your baby's room.
-
Step 2
Keep the center of the nursery free of obstacles. This open space will allow your baby to sit, crawl and eventually learn to walk.
-
Step 3
Hang family photographs in the nursery. This will give the baby happy, familiar faces to look at.
-
Step 4
Paint the walls a comforting color that isn't overwhelming to your baby. Primary colors may be too stimulating for an infant. Avoid bold colors in favor of muted pastels.
-
Step 5
Position the crib so the baby's head pointed toward the farthest wall, but the feet are not pointing toward the door. Correct placement of the crib allows positive energy to flow, helping the baby to sleep better.
-
Step 6
Add a green plant in the room to help with the air quality. Keep it out of reach of your infant.
