Battleship dice is a game played with five dice. This game can be played by kids for fun, or played by adults as a drinking game. The following steps will show you how to play battleship dice.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 5 dice
  • 2 or more players
  1. Step 1

Go around the table tossing a die. Whoever has the highest number goes first. If there is a tie, each of the tied players must roll again.

  2. Step 2

Roll all five dice if you are the first player. You have three rolls to try to get the highest score. Pass the dice to the player on your left after your turn is completed.

  3. Step 3

Get at least one 6 on a die after rolling all five of the dice. This 6 represents the battleship. Keep rolling all five dice until you get a 6. Set the 6 to the side once you have rolled it.

  4. Step 4

Try to get a 5 after rolling a 6 which represents the captain. You must have a 6 first before using the 5. If you roll a 5 and a 6 in the same roll, you can use the 5 and you must set these to the side before rolling the other dice.

  5. Step 5

Toss the remaining dice to get a 4, which represents the mate. If you roll a 5, 6 and a 4 at the same time, you may use them all, but you need to have a 5 and a 6 before rolling a 4 that you can use. Set these dice to the side before rolling again.

  6. Step 6

Score zero if you have not thrown the battleship, the captain and the mate.

  7. Step 7

Throw the remaining two dice, which represents the crew, to get your score if you have rolled the 6, 5 and the 4 in your first two turns. If you do not have any rolls remaining, total the two dice after the third throw. For example, if the remaining 2 dice are a 6 and a 2, you score an 8.

  8. Step 8

Win the game if you have the highest score after all players have taken their turns. If there is a tie, the players with the highest scores play until a winner is determined.
