Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Measure 2 oz. beeswax and 1 cup extra virgin or cold-pressed sweet almond oil in the top of a double boiler. Heat the mixture slowly until the wax melts. Don't overheat, as high temperatures can destroy the healing properties of your oils. The wax and oil mixture should never get too hot to touch.
Step2
Slightly heat 1 cup of water in a separate sauce pan and pour the warm water into a blender. Place the lid on the blender, remove the small circular cap and turn the blender on its lowest setting.
Step3
Slowly pour the wax and oil mixture into the mixture, keeping the blender on at all times. Squeeze the oil from four 400 IU vitamin E capsules into the mixture. Vitamin E nourishes and protects the skin, and it acts as a natural preservative that will prolong the shelf life of your hand cream.
Step4
Add 10 to 15 drops of lavender essential oil into the blender. Lavender is known for it's calming and anti-depressant effects.
Step5
Keep the blender working until the mixture has cooled and thickened into a smooth cream. Turn off the blender and spoon your hand cream into small jars with tight fitting lids. Allow the cream to cool thoroughly before sealing.
Step6
Extend the life of your natural creams by keeping them in the refrigerator or in a cool, dark place.
