Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Mix 1/2 cup of citric acid, 1 and 1/4 cup baking soda and 2 tbsp. of dried chamomile flowers in a bowl. You can powder the chamomile in a mortar and pestle before beginning.

  2. Step 2

Measure 1/2 tbsp. of honey into the bowl. If you like, you may add about five drops of yellow or orange food coloring to the mixture.

  3. Step 3

Add between 2 and 6 tbsp. of almond oils gradually to the mixture, stirring constantly. Only add enough oil that the mixture holds together without crumbling when formed into a ball.

  4. Step 4

Pack the bath bomb mixture firmly into lightly oiled molds, leaving the paste to set for a few minutes before tapping the finished bath bombs onto a sheet of waxed paper. Allow your chamomile bath bombs to dry thoroughly before storing them in an air-tight container.

Tips & Warnings
  • Purchase molds specially designed for bath bombs, or get creative and use candy molds, an ice cream scoop or even muffin tins. Pack the bath bomb mixture firmly into the mold to prevent crumbling when dry.
  • It may take a day or two for your finished bath bombs to dry completely, depending on the climate.
  • This recipe should make about 7 chamomile bath bombs.
