Planning for a baby is always a great event; however, when you are expecting twins it can be an experience. Twins mean you need two of everything--two bassinets, two cribs and two high chairs. It also means you have to have enough clothing for two rather than one. Raising twins will be a rewarding experience. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Try not to play favorites. Although you may relate better to one of your twins you should still treat them equally.
Step2
Let each child develop at his own pace. It's easy to make comparisons and be afraid that one of your children is not developing fast enough, but don't panic, each child, even twins, develop at their own pace.
Step3
Make sure each child has some special things that are their own. You don't want them to confuse their identities and having some things that are just theirs helps to preserve their own personality.
Step4
Join support groups for raising twins. Raising twins is different from raising one child and it is helpful for parents to hear about the experiences of others who are raising twins.
Step5
Set up a schedule for the babies and for yourself. You should learn to prioritize in order to get the most out of the experience. If your twins have a play date, this is the ideal time to do those tasks that you have put off for lack of time.
Step6
Accept help when someone offers it--whether it is advice or help with running your household--don't be afraid to take it. Make sure your spouse plays a big part in raising your twins.

Tips & Warnings

  • Raising twins can be a full time job. Make sure you allow time for yourself.
