Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Measure your room. Before you make that first trip to the store in the hunt for your king size comfort, make sure your room is big enough to accommodate the larger bed. A king size bed is about 76-by-80 inches, or nearly a foot bigger all the way around than a queen.
Step2
Decide what other furniture needs to go in the room besides the bed. Decide if you and your partner each need a nightstand, or if you have another room to put your dressers and chests.
Step3
Spend time in the store before buying. Allow yourself at least 15 minutes to lie on the mattress in the store before purchasing. Dress casually in pants. Move around and lie in the various positions, which you normally sleep in during a night.
Step4
Make sure you can get the mattress through all hallways and doors before bringing it home. Also, be certain that you can open all the closets once the bed is in place.
Step5
Plan to spend as much as you can on your mattress. Many studies prove that proper sleep affects every waking hour of our day. A king size bed can add to this comfort, but you still need the proper firmness for your body type, regardless of the size of the bed.
