Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Gather all of your records. This would include all transcripts, medical records, your birth certificate, your identifications and any other documents that are important for you. You will need to submit these at your new school abroad.
Step2
Get your records translated into the language that is commonly spoken at the school you will be attending overseas. Translators can be found online, in a telephone book or through the immigration office. There are also translators abroad.
Step3
Update or purchase your passport. This should be done at least six months before you leave. You will need a current photo of yourself for the passport. Passport photos are usually taken a most photography studios for a cheap rate.
Step4
Learn the language. You should learn some basic phrases in the language that is spoken where you are going to attend school abroad. Remember that you cannot learn an entire language overnight, but learning the basic phrases of survival will be very helpful. (For example, learn the phrases such as how to ask for something or how to say your name, counting).
Step5
Arrive at least one week early to get acquainted with the area.
Step6
Ask for information about the school ahead of time. Learn as much about the school as possible. Knowing what to expect before you get there is always helpful. Learn the rules, policies, regulations and procedures that the school has established.
Step7
Relax. Take one day at a time. There will be a lot to learn and a lot of adjusting. This all takes time. Don't be afraid to ask questions at your new school.
