Things You'll Need:
- Compressed air canister
- Cotton swabs
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Soft cloth
-
Step 1
Consult your manufacturer's manual to learn any tips specific to the cleaning and maintenance of your laptop model.
-
Step 2
Blow compressed air through the cooling vents. Stick cotton swabs in the fan to suspend movement while cleaning the blades. Don't spray directly into the fans as it could cause them to over spin.
-
Step 3
Move to the I/O ports. Wipe away large pieces of dirt with cotton swabs or by using compressed air. Don't blow debris directly into the I/O ports.
-
Step 4
Use a non-abrasive cloth to clean the display with isopropyl alcohol mixed with an equal amount of water. The dirt on the display will be easier to see if you turn off the laptop first.
-
Step 5
Rid dirt build-up on the keyboard by using compressed air and cotton swabs. Check your manual before attempting to remove keys for cleaning.
