How to Make Black Forest Ice Cream

- 28 oz. sweetened condensed milk
- 4 cups half-n-half
- 1 tbsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
- 16 oz. canned cherries
- Ice cream freezer
- Large bowl
- Wire whisk
- Ice
- Rock salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips

Combine 28 oz. of sweetened condensed milk, 4 cups of half-n-half and 1 tbsp. of vanilla in a large bowl. Mix well with a wire whisk.

Stir in the chocolate syrup until the mixture is well combined. Drain the cherries, and cut each cherry into fourths. Add the cherries and chocolate chips to the mixture. Mix again.

Pour the ice cream mixture into a 1 gallon ice cream freezing container.

Follow the manufacturer's directions for using your ice cream freezer.

Drain the melted water from the ice cream freezer once the machine has finished. Repack the freezer with ice and salt. Use 1 part salt to 3 parts ice.

Cover the ice cream freezer with a heavy blanket or towel. Place the freezer out of direct sunlight. Let the ice cream sit undisturbed for an hour.

Serve the ice cream immediately, or place it in your freezer. Keep ice cream in a deep freezer for long-term storage.
