Like the rest of our bodies, our lips can get sunburned. Lip balm with SPF protects your lips from both UVA and UVB rays. It also helps prevent sunburn and chapped lips. A good lip balm soothes and moisturizes your lips while protecting them.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Decide the level of SPF you need by multiplying your normal burn time by the SPF. If you normally get sunburned in ten minutes, a SPF of 15 would protect your lips for 150 minutes. Most lip balms have an SPF of 15 or 30.
Step2
Look at the ingredients. Some companies offer a vegan and organic lip balm with SPF that are made from certified organic oils and wax. Lip balms infused with vitamins can offer natural protection and help prevent signs of aging.
Step3
Find a lip balm in a flavor you like. Lip balm flavors include fruits like strawberry, tangerine and cherry; herbs like mint, thyme and rosemary; and flavors made to taste like your favorite soda pop. Some companies specialize in creating flavors you can't currently find on the market.
Step4
Choose a container designed for easy use. Get a lip balm that clips to your coat of pocket for easy use during outdoor activities like hiking or skiing. Avoid containers that require you to use your finger in order to apply the lip balm.
Step5
Get a lip balm with tint that can replace the need for lipstick. If you prefer natural products, use a lip balm that has natural coloring from the skin of fruits or plant extracts.
