Installation of a cold air intake system is an inexpensive way to get more power out of a vehicle. Cold air reduces the temperature of air entering the vehicle engine, maximizing the power. Vehicles perform better, save on fuel and purr like a kitten when you install a cold air intake system.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Screwdriver
  • Clamps
  • Urethane sleeve connector
  • Two pipes
  • Car lift
  • High-flow air filter
  1. Step 1

Take the factory air intake tube off the throttle body. Also remove the air box on the fender well. Loosen the two clamps with a screwdriver at each end of the rubber hose.

  2. Step 2

Lift the stock air box up and out. Remove the screws in the fender well first.

  3. Step 3

Put the vehicle onto a lift to access the muffler and lower air intake.

  4. Step 4

Find the tube with the air filter attached in the fender of the vehicle. This is where the cool air comes into the engine.

  5. Step 5

Feed the tube up into the engine compartment and attach with a large nut.

  6. Step 6

Install the high-flow air filter next in the fender in order to protect it from the elements.

  7. Step 7

Hold the second pipe and throttle body--use 2 clamps to attach. Use a urethane sleeve connector for the upper and lower pipes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure all clamps are tightened completely.
  • Do not drive a vehicle without an intake air filter system.
