When many people think of barbecue and barbecue sauces, they think of ribs and steak and chicken. But when it comes to seafood, it can be quite tasty smothered with sauce as well. Here is a quick and easy Seafood Barbecue Sauce recipe for the next time you hit the grill.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup dijon mustard
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 3 tbs. rice vinegar
  • 4 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. tabasco
  • 2 tsp. sweet paprika
  • 1 tbsp. curry powder
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice (fresh squeezed if possible)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. worcestershire sauce
  1. Step 1

Combine all ingredients into a heavy saucepan.

  2. Step 2

Place saucepan over low flame and begin to heat.

  3. Step 3

Stir until mixture starts to dissolve and combine. Then re-stir every 15 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Test the sauce by dipping into it. Do this with a carrot or better yet a piece of shrimp. While you are obviously looking for taste, you are also gauging consistency. When the sauce is the thickness of the ketchup, it has simmered enough and is ready.

  5. Step 5

Remove the Seafood Barbecue Sauce off the stove and allow to cool. This stays good for about 1 week in your fridge. Baste yourself silly on every seafood recipe that pops into your head.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you do not use all of your Seafood Barbecue Sauce within the week, you may also freeze it for use with another recipe.
