4. Practice shooting your recurve bow daily until hunting season opens. For best results, shoot your target in a variety of weather conditions.

5. Estimate your arcing factor during target practice. Your distance from your target as well as your draw length affects your arc angle.

6. Wax the bows string with bee's wax regularly to prevent fraying.

Tips & Warnings

• Use a lighter draw weight if you're a beginner. After you get used to the bow you may increase your draw weight to a minimum of 50 lbs., especially if you plan to hunt large game.

• Wooden arrows can break easily, so care for them properly. Check for straightness at the time of purchase and keep them dry.
