Step1
Check the make and model of your grill. Then go to that company's site or your local home improvement store to see if they make an accompanying basket that fits your grill. BBQ baskets have become so popular that you can usually order them right from the manufacturer as an addition, like a grill cover.
Step2
Determine what you are going to cook in your BBQ Basket. Baskets are usually inexpensive, ranging from $10 to $30. Therefore, buy the basket that will cook your recipe the best. There are baskets for everything from whole chickens to fish to corn husks and more.
Step3
Invest in a well-made heat resistant handle. Some of the cheaper versions have a plastic handle that won't be as effective when getting over a really hot flame. An iron, metal or wooden handle with a fire retardant on it is the best way to go to be sure that it won't melt on you.
Step4
Think about ease of cleaning. Everyone loves to BBQ on the grill, but no one loves cleaning it. There are some great contraptions out there when it comes to baskets; however, some of them are very hard to clean. Before you purchase a BBQ basket, be sure you know how to take it apart for cleaning.
