Things You'll Need:
- Screwdrivers
- Needle nose pliers
- Wrenches
- Numbered set of drill
- Pipe joint compound
-
Step 1
Turn the cap on the pressure regulator with a coin or flathead screwdriver and remove it. Use the removed cap to tighten the one underneath that reads LP.
-
Step 2
Snap the plunger back into its original position after you turn the plunger over upon removal. Make sure you re-insert the cap into the regulator and tighten it.
-
Step 3
Twist the top burner valve of each burner downward until it touches the pin for the LP setting. Use a ½-inch wrench to turn the burners counter clockwise.
-
Step 4
Find the pilot screw located behind the thermostat knob. Remove the thermostat knob and turn the control screw from the natural gas setting to the LP setting. This will require a full turn in the clockwise direction. Replace the thermostat knob.
-
Step 5
Take the bottom broiler drawer and burner baffle plate and remove it. Find the wing nut and turn counter clockwise to do this step.
-
Step 6
Work with the ½-inch wrench and turn the safety valve orifice hood clockwise until it is tight. This will finish the conversion from natural gas to LP.
-
Step 7
Check the conversion for leaks. Turn the LP gas on and plug the power supply cord into a grounded outlet. Adjust the air shutters for equal gas distribution. Readjust the range lighting pilots.
