The Side Show is an extremely difficult Freestyle Motocross (FMX) trick. It consists of a series of compound elements and is a signature move of Chuck Carothers. The following steps will show how to do the FMX Side Show Trick.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Perform the Side Show with one hand on the bars and one on the grab hole. Complete a no footed can-can with an Indian Air element and let go with both hands. This sequence initially must be practiced in stages.

  2. Step 2

Move one hand from the handle bar to the grab hole and do a Can-Can to the opposite side. This is one of the simplest FMX tricks and consists simply of taking a foot off of its peg and bringing it over the seat in front of the other foot.

  3. Step 3

Take the remaining foot off of the peg so that both feet are on the same side of the bike but not touching it.

  4. Step 4

Add the Indian Air element by moving your legs as if you are walking through the air.

  5. Step 5

Let go of the bike completely with both hands and grab back on. Pull both legs in and mount the bike in the standard riding position before landing.

Tips & Warnings
  • FMX tricks are dangerous and may result in severe injury or death. No FMX trick should be attempted without proper supervision and protective gear at all times. The Side Show is especially dangerous because you will not be holding on to the bike at one point.
