Freestyle Motocross, or FMX, is an exciting way to get your adrenaline rush. If you think you are ready to learn some basic stunts, the saran wrap trick is one of the basics that you need to learn. Practice the moves of the saran wrap until you are comfortable doing it with either leg before you move on to more advanced jumps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Gear up. Safety is important no matter what FMX jump you are learning to perform. Also make sure your motorcycle is in top form.
Step2
Approach the ramp with enough speed to give you ample airtime to perform the trick. Allow 30 to 40 feet per move as you learn the trick. Later you can get by with fewer feet of airtime.
Step3
Stand tall and face forward on your motorcycle as you begin the jump. Keep your arms fairly straight. Try to keep your body in the same steady position throughout the jump.
Step4
Bring your left leg up with the knee bent. Push your leg over the handlebar. Stand as tall as you can on your right leg to make this easier.
Step5
Shift your weight slightly to the left. As soon as your left leg clears the handlebar, swing it around to the left.
Step6
Briefly remove your left hand from the handlebar. Pass your leg over the outside of the left handlebar. As soon as possible, settle your left leg back on the peg and grab the handlebar again with your left hand. This completes the FMX saran wrap trick.
Step7
Practice this move with both the right and left legs until you master it. With enough practice you can learn a double saran wrap or a saran-to-saran wrap by doing both the left and right legs in a single jump.

Tips & Warnings

  • All FMX tricks can be dangerous. Proceed with extreme caution.
