The Freestyle Motocross, or FMX, rock solid trick is a basic trick. It requires a lot of upper body strength to complete. It is also necessary that you know how to do a one-handed and a two-handed grab before you attempt a rock solid. It may take you several attempts to master the rock solid trick.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Stretch your muscles before you put your FMX safety gear on. Make sure your motorcycle is in optimal condition. Double check to make sure the grabs are secure.
Step2
Approach the FMX ramp with enough speed to give you ample height and distance to complete the rock solid. Make sure the ramp is solid enough not to throw the front wheel of your motorcycle into a loop as you become airborne. Also try to keep the motorcycle in a horizontal line as you do the rock solid.
Step3
Let go of the handlebars as soon as you become airborne. Reach for the grabs.
Step4
Lower your upper body to the motorcycle seat as you straighten your legs toward the rear of the motorcycle. Your body should be horizontal or your legs can be slightly higher. Your head should be near the seat. Flex your arms as you hold on to the grabs.
Step5
Let go with both hands. Allow your arms to hang beside the motorcycle or extend them. You are now in the rock solid position.
Step6
Replace your hand on the grabs. Pull the motorcycle back to your body.
Step7
Put your hands back on the handlebars. Swing your body back into a sitting position. Reposition your feet on the pegs in time to land safely.
