Freestyle Motocross, or FMX, is an extreme sport. One of the popular advanced tricks is the McMetz. It is a combination of other FMX tricks and is for advanced FMX cyclists only. You must be able to perform all the basic tricks before trying to perform a McMetz.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wear your safety gear at all times. Make sure your motorcycle is in top operating condition.

  2. Step 2

Practice the basic FMX moves that form the heart of the McMetz. The two moves you must perfect in order to pull off a McMetz are the bar hop and saran wrap. If you are unable to perform either of these stunts, you do not have the skills necessary to complete a McMetz safely.

  3. Step 3

Approach the ramp with enough speed to give you maximum air and hang time. Position your body so it is leaning back a bit. Fully extend your arms and only allow a slight bend in the elbows.

  4. Step 4

Bring your knees up to your chest as soon as the motorcycle leaves the ramp. Keep your toes pointed up. Form as tight a ball as possible.

  5. Step 5

Swing your legs forward through the handlebars as if you are doing a bar hop. Keep your body as low to the motorcycle as you can.

  6. Step 6

Spread your legs wide as soon as they clear the handlebars. As you spread your legs, release your grip on the handlebars. You shouldn't be very far away from the bike at this point.

  7. Step 7

Clear the handlebars with your legs. Grab back onto the handlebars. Bring your legs back down to the pegs of the motorcycle in time to land the McMetz jump safely.

Tips & Warnings
