While not easy, the Freestyle Motocross (FMX) Lazy Boy trick is attainable even by beginners. Created and perfected by FMX superstar Travis Pastrana, you can surely master this trick before your next big event. This unique reclining FMX trick may not be the most difficult to perform, but it's a crowd pleaser every time.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Approach the ramp and lift off as you would for any standard jump. The most difficult part of the FMX Lazy Boy trick is keeping your body against your bike, never separating your rear end from the seat.

  2. Step 2

Pick your feet up off of your foot pegs as soon as you leave the ramp. With your hands still on the handle bars, bring your legs out straight in front of you, positioning them firmly under the handle bars. When your feet are firmly anchored under your handle bars, recline your body backwards against the seat into the Lazy Boy position. These movements are quick and should appear as one swift movement.

  3. Step 3

Reach your arms back over your head and grab the back of your bike's fender for a few seconds. When you feel that you and your bike have reached the peak air and have begun descent, release the FMX Lazy Boy position.

  4. Step 4

Lift your body to a seated position and place your hands on the handle bars before releasing your feet to prevent separating your body from the bike seat. Again, this should appear to be one swift movement. Brace yourself and prepare for your landing.

Tips & Warnings
  • FMX is a dangerous sport and should never be practiced alone. It is recommended that you practice your freestyle tricks under the close supervision of an experienced professional.
