Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Fold two 8.5-by-11 pieces of cardstock in half. Place one piece of cardstock to the side. Mark a dot in the center on the outside folded edge.
Step2
Draw a horizontal 2-inch line extending from the dot towards the unfolded edge of the cardstock. Cut the line beginning at the folded edge working inwards.
Step3
Bend the flaps backwards to form two right triangles. Form a crease then open the flaps again. Open the whole page.
Step4
Set the cardstock on the table so it looks like a tent. Push your finger on the top of the triangles and push the cut edges through the other side. Turn your cardstock over and when you open and close the book it will resemble a talking beak to make a pop-up book.
Step5
Illustrate an animal or person using the pop-up as the mouth. Take the second sheet of cardstock and glue it on the outside making sure not to apply glue around the mouth. Color your pop-up book.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cut a jagged line to make the animal or person have teeth.
  • Supervise young children when using scissors while making the pop-up book to avoid injuries.
