Instructions
-
-
1
Remove any debris or residue on the lamp with a household cleaner and a cloth. Dry the lamp thoroughly.
-
2
Select a paper to decoupage the lamp. Coordinate the paper with the colors and feel of the chosen room's decor.
-
-
3
Cut the pictures or designs out of the colored paper. If cutting out specific prints on the paper, cut as close as possible to the edges of the design. Use a craft knife instead of scissors for cutting details out of paper.
-
4
Arrange your cutout paper designs on the lamp to decide exactly where to place them. Keep in mind how the shape of the lamp will effect the cutouts when they are pasted. Number the cut-outs and mark the lamp with the numbers to remember where to place the designs.
-
5
Squeeze a generous amount of glue onto a small plate.
-
6
Place a cut-out face-up on it's numbered space on the lamp. Dip a sponge brush into the glue. Use the brush to spread the glue over the entire cutout. Remove any wrinkles with the sponge. Apply extra glue over the edges to help the design adhere to the lamp.
-
7
Repeat Step 6 for all the remaining cut-outs. Be careful not to tear or wrinkle the decoupage as you work around the lamp.
-
8
Allow the glue to dry before using the lamp.
