Instructions

    • 1

Add fresh lemon or lime juice to your water before drinking. Lemons and limes are natural antibacterial agents and are full of other vitamins and minerals your body needs when infected. It is also recommended that travelers or people living in cholera-prone areas add lemon or lime juice to their water regularly as a preventative medicine.

    • 2

Make fresh cucumber juice to alleviate the painful symptoms of cholera, replenish lost acids needed to fight the bacteria and to quench the severe thirst caused by cholera. Simply add one whole cucumber, peel and all, to a blender and drink as often as desired. To boost the medicinal value of your cucumber juice, add a slice of onion to the blender.

    • 3

Mix equal parts of powdered red pepper and honey and roll the paste into small pellets about half the size of a pea. Set the pellets on waxed paper and allow them to dry thoroughly. Take two pellets with lots of fresh, clean water two or three times daily as a natural medicine to combat extreme physical weakness caused by cholera.

Eat a light diet consisting of easily digestible foods such as soups and natural yogurts. Add raw or slightly cooked onion to as many meals as possible. Natural herbal teas, particularly ginger, oregano and mint can help ease the painful symptoms of cholera as well.

Tips & Warnings

  • Drink lots of clean water not only to help purge your system of the bacteria that is causing your symptoms, but to keep your body hydrated. The number one symptom of cholera is diarrhea, therefore water is extremely important in order to replace the fluids you are losing.

  • Dehydration is the most dangerous symptom of cholera. If vomiting caused by cholera is so severe that you cannot retain fluids, see a doctor immediately.
