Things You'll Need:
- Boogie board
- Leash
-
Step 1
Perform a 360 on a boogie board by making a slight turn to your left as you reach the top of the wave. You can accomplish this by pressing down on the left side of the rail with your hand, digging your left elbow into the rail and shifting your weight into the turn.
-
Step 2
Slide a few inches forward on your boogie board once you reach the very top of the wave. Lift your legs out of the water by arching your back and lifting your head slightly. Your nose should be aligned with the nose of the boogie board as you perform the 360.
-
Step 3
Ensure that your body is evenly balanced along the length and width of the board, and then throw your head to the left, with your shoulders following. You should still have a firm grip on the rails of the board as you shift direction.
-
Step 4
Arch your head and lift your legs even further into the air as you and your boogie board start to revolve on the top of the wave. At this point, the turn should gain momentum with the crashing of the wave. Try to avoid touching the water with your feet, which may stall the 360 and cause you to wipe out.
-
Step 5
Right your boogie board after you perform the 360 by grabbing both rails with your hands and digging your elbows in, just as if you were completing a basic bottom turn move on a wave. Shift your body weight back into its normal position, and allow your feet to act as rudders to stop the spin completely.
-
Step 6
Ensure that you are using either an arm or ankle leash on your boogie board when you perform a 360. When you first practice the move, it will be very easy for the board to slip out and jettison from underneath your body.
