With the advent of bet tracking software, online horse racing blogs and computerized handicapping programs, it makes sense that many horse racing fans are now watching the events live on the Internet. In fact, many horse racing software package provide links so that you can see races, leaderboards and race results via streaming video.

Things You'll Need:

  • Horse racing analysis and bet tracking software
  1. Step 1

Find a website with a live video feed that allows you to watch horse racing on the Internet. Many sites are available that specialize in live racing coverage based on the region of the venue (such as all Ohio race tracks, for instance) or the type of horse racing involved (harness racing, for example). Some race track venues, such as Aqueduct, Santa Anita and Saratoga, feature their own dedicated feed so that fans can follow the races at home.

  2. Step 2

Watch horse racing events on the Internet that have already occurred in order to handicap future races. Some horse racing sites maintain an archive so that you can note posting times, weather and track conditions and even the body language of a particular horse to predict performance in future races.

  3. Step 3

Use computer software programs, such as ADPA Systems software, that analyze race information and track your bets in order to watch horse racing on the Internet (see Resources below). Many of these programs offer features that link the software to live Internet coverage of the races.

  4. Step 4

Subscribe to a service, such as YouBet.com, which allows you to watch horse racing on the Internet, while betting at the same time (see Resources below). Note that these services may charge a nominal fee if you do not meet a minimum wagering requirement.

  5. Step 5

Use other online sources, such as Horse-races.net, for a list of available live video feeds and video archives (see Resources below). Horse-races.net, for example, offers a comprehensive list of all free and subscription-based services, not to mention a listing of every North American horse racing venue that offers a live feed to events.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to set your Internet browser to block pop-ups while watching streaming video online.
