Tiger Woods PGA Tour is recognized as one of the premier video golf games available today. Over the last few years, each iteration of the series has gotten better, from improved graphics to enhanced control. It's easy to play Tiger Woods PGA Tour, but mastering the controls and becoming proficient will take time. You can jump right in, but practicing will make your tournament performances much better.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Choose your game type. You can practice or head straight into a tournament. You can also elect to join an online tournament over Xbox Live.
Step2
Aim your shot trajectory using the Right Stick. Moving left and right will adjust the angle of the shot. Account for the wind while doing this: windy conditions will have a profound effect on the ball as it travels to the green.
Step3
Choose your club with the Right and Left Triggers. This will scroll through your available clubs until you find the right one.
Step4
Swing using the Left Stick. Swinging involves pulling the stick "back" towards you and then pushing it "forward." The more you press it forward the harder your swing will be. For shorter putts and swings you'll want to use minimal force.
Step5
Press the A button to adjust the camera view. This is particularly useful when you're on the green and need to see its contours. Moving the camera angle can help you better determine how to putt to account for the elevations and imperfections.
Step6
Press the Y button to reset your shot choices. This will restore the current default club, as well as reset your shot target. Using the Y button is particularly useful when you're on the green and need to be incredibly precise.
Step7
Head to EA.com to get tips and hints from other players (see Resources below).

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the Left Bumper when you play Tiger Woods PGA Tour to affect the ball during your swing. Pressing LB (Left Bumper) rapidly will cause the ball to spin more, as well as fly farther. Be aware, however, that concentrating on the LB can make it harder to get good accuracy out of your swing.
  • This guide is universal in terms of strategy, but the controls listed are directed towards those who play on the Xbox 360. The control scheme is similar on the PS2 and PS3, but the lettered buttons of the Xbox 360 are different from the symbol buttons on the respective PlayStation controllers.
