There are a number of factors that can lead to a great college graduation party. First you need to consider what your graduate want. You can throw an elaborate graduation party for college students that fails because activities aren't catered to the right age group.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Coolers
  • Bonfire supplies

Step1
Work with your graduate's roommates to plan a college graduation party worth remembering. These individuals have daily contact with your student and provide insight into the best activities to use when you throw a party.
Step2
Select a date for your college graduation party that does not conflict with holidays and other events. A party held a week after graduation allows guests to relax and enjoy the activities at your venue without thinking about the next party.
Step3
Set aside time at your graduation event to take pictures of college graduates with their relatives and friends. Ask graduates to bring their caps and gowns to parties held later to make the pictures appear like they were taken after commencement.
Step4
Mail out invitations at least 2 months in advance to beat out competing parties held in the narrow window after graduation. You can throw a bustling party with every guest on your list if you give each guest enough time to confirm.
Step5
Start your college graduation party with a friendly sports tournament. A round of frisbee golf or a few games of bowling adds a fun touch before you throw your party in the evening.
Step6
Purchase plenty of drinks and snacks to throw a successful party without hungry guests. Alcoholic beverages and soda are a necessity in the early summer weather. Keep bowls of chips, pretzels and other snacks on picnic tables for easy access throughout your party.
Step7
Organize a secret gift-giving exchange in order to throw a unique party for your college graduate. This activity should be organized like a Secret Santa event, with a maximum gift price and gift recipient sent with each invitation.
Step8
Create a central meeting place and point of conversation amongst guests with a graduation bonfire. A big bonfire in the middle of your party venue keeps your friends warm as temperatures get cooler.

Tips & Warnings

  • Assemble a separate party with older relatives and friends from out of town for your college graduate. This party can take place after graduation day at a time convenient for a majority of your guests. This party should be simpler than the initial graduation party you throw to keep your costs low.
