You've dreamed of that perfect dress since you were a little girl, and now that the time has come to actually pick that dress, the choices may become a little overwhelming. Fear not, blushing summer solstice bride! It may seem a daunting task at first, but keeping just a few simple tips in mind will help you locate that perfect wedding dress.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide whether you will be a traditional or non-traditional bride. Though going non-traditional will open up your options as far as color and fabric, it may severely limit your selection since it may be difficult to find just what you're looking for in a bridal boutique.

  2. Step 2

Pick a color that exemplifies the spirit of the summer solstice. Yellow or orange could symbolize the sun, and many contemporary brides are choosing to don a red dress for their big day, which could reflect the vibrant colors of the summer flowers. There is no law that states a bride must wear white.

  3. Step 3

Choose a fabric with a mind towards the kind of ceremony you'll be having. If you are having your wedding ceremony outside to fully celebrate the Summer Solstice, then you will want to avoid heavy, synthetic fabrics that don't breathe well in the heat. Natural cotton or light, flowing fabrics will be far more appropriate.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wedding dress sizes often run a little smaller than every day dress sizes, so don't be discouraged if you need to try a dress a size or two larger than your usual dress size. You've not eaten too much sample wedding cake, they're just made that way!
