If you feel like you can't get your kids to stop snacking, try these simple tips to put a limit on what they eat between meals.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Colored bins
  • Labels
  • Baggies
  • Snacks

Step1
Buy only healthy snacks or snacks that are acceptable to you for your kids to eat.
Step2
Separate your snacks by type. For example, crackers, sugary fruit snacks, and granola.
Step3
Place each kind of snack in a different colored bin. The snacks should be divided into single servings ahead of time.
Step4
Let your children pick a snack from the bin color of your choice next time they ask for something to eat.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep track of how many sugary snacks your kids eat, and suggest something from a different colored bin if they are overdoing it.
  • Keep the snacks portioned out so that your kids will not be able to go overboard.
  • Don't buy potato chips for yourself if you don't want your kids to eat them.
